The LocationMurcia region is located on the Mediterranean Sea on the southeast of the Spanish mainland between the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca. With 250km of coastline known as the Costa Calida (warm coast), Murcia is also home to Europe’s largest salt water lake – the Mar Menor (little sea). Covering an area of more than 170 square kilometres (65 square miles) including 73 km of coast, its shallow warm waters are perfect for water sports and families all year round. Because Murcia is situated in central Europe, it is also easy to get to France, Italy, Portugal and the Canary Islands (1 hour behind Spanish mainland time) by car or public transport.
